Invitation to symposium on May 26th: Watch Our Schools

During the past 10 years schools and universities have been used for military purposes in at least 34 countries in the world, often in situations of armed conflict. Occupying a school can turn it into a legitimate military target, and usually makes the safe continuation of education for children impossible. The right to education means little if students cannot safely attend school, but that is the reality for many children living in conflict zones worldwide.

Opportunity for Students: Young Diplomats Forum 2016- London and Zagreb

The 6th and 7th Edition of the Young Diplomats Forum will take place in London (July) and Zagreb (September) this year. Young Diplomats Forum is a global gathering of aspiring and young diplomats below the age of 35. Previous editions took place in Turkey, Mexico, Greece and the United Kingdom. Drinks

There will also be an opportunity for drinks on Thursday May 19th in ROOTZ, starting at 17:00 and lasting until 20:00. This is organised in collaboration with the student associations of the study-programs in The Hague. Current students of Leiden University who are studying in The Hague are invited to toast on the expansion of college life in The Hague. Here, the attendees can also enroll as volunteers for HOPweek.

EURAD launches short film competition in the Netherlands (extended until May 10th 2016!)

EURAD welcomes applications for their film competition, the competition is open to students aged 15-25 from The Netherlands! Winners in the final round will receive €5000 (First Prize), €3000 (Second Prize) and €2000 (Third Prize) at the international award ceremony which takes place in Istanbul on 10th June 2016.
